Courtney Gillespie, MSc. PT

Courtney Gillespie is proudly from the Miramichi area, having been raised in Whitney along with her three siblings. She is a lover of the outdoors, sports and fitness and can often be found near the water, the gym or at her stepdaughter’s sports events. After graduating from her Masters of Science degree in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, Courtney happily returned home to Miramichi in 2014 with the goal of improving the health and overall wellness of the community. 

Courtney is part owner of our two physiotherapy clinics and is always striving to improve the service, scope and accessibility of physiotherapy in our area. She continues to further her education by attending courses each year. Most recently, Courtney has become a Level 2 certified pelvic health physiotherapist, trained specifically for women’s pelvic health. She is the only physiotherapist in Miramichi certified to provide this service! She is also credentialed in acupuncture, functional dry needling and concussion rehabilitation. 

Courtney is passionate about the physiotherapy profession and all the ways it can help you reach your full potential! 


Physiotherapists

Solange St-Coeur, PT

Solange grew up in the Alnwick region, not far from Miramichi. She completed a diploma in science at Université de Moncton in 2001 and pursued her studies at Université Laval in Québec City where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy in 2004. Solange has continued to provide quality service in both French and English since starting with the company in 2004. Since then, she has become part owner of the company and continues to work with the health and wellbeing of all populations in mind. Outside of work, she coaches baton twirling in the Neguac area and loves spending all her spare time with her family.


Physiotherapists

Jane Nastasiuk, PT

Jane Nastasiuk (nee Schenkels) has strong roots in the Miramichi area, having grown up in Red Bank, along with her 7 other siblings on a dairy farm. She is an avid lover of the outdoors and her active lifestyle involves numerous recreational activities, from gardening, hiking, cross country skiing and kayaking to name a few. After Graduating from Dalhousie University and working one year in Miramichi, Jane moved to Barrie, Ontario with her husband Joe. In 1998, they decided to return to make the Miramichi their home again. Jane and Joe have one daughter, Anika.

Jane has a strong belief in lifelong learning, which she not only demonstrates through the numerous courses she has taken and continues to take, but also in the way she instils this attitude in her clients. Her outstanding array of treatment methods coupled with the client’s education on how they too play an active role in their rehabilitation has shown tremendous results for the thousands of clients she has successfully treated over the years.

Jane looks forward to meeting new clients who demonstrate a challenging injury or condition, as this provides an opportunity for her to broaden her thinking and allows her to implement new and up-to-date techniques she has learned through her numerous and innovative continuing education programs.


Physiotherapists

Maïka Thériault,

MSc. PT

Maïka graduated from Université de Moncton in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and completed her master's degree in physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2023. Since then, she has been working with the team at River Rehabilitation, now called Miramichi Physiotherapy.

Maïka has already completed several courses, including functional dry needling, as well as courses on the neck, shoulder, and lower extremities. She is committed to ongoing professional development through continuing education.

She enjoys treating a variety of injuries and conditions but has a particular interest in orthopedics and sports-related injuries. When she is not working you can find Maïka at the rink skating and traveling.

Massage Therapist

Ashley Preston, RMT

Ashley has been providing therapeutic massage services since graduating from ICT Schools Moncton in 2011. She specializes in a variety of techniques such as trigger point release, lymphatic drainage, deep tissue, therapeutic, relaxation, and prenatal massages to help clients with a variety of different conditions, from muscle pain, nerve pain, stress relief, chronic pain to name a few.

Maddie Flanagan

Maddie was born and raised in Blacks Harbour, NB. She moved to Miramichi in 2019 and became part of the River Rehabilitation team in 2020. When not at work, Maddie enjoys spending time outdoors and with family. She looks forward to helping clients work towards being the best version of themselves.


Physiotherapy Assistant

Max Flanagan,

BSc Kin

Max was born and raised in Barnaby River, New Brunswick. He graduated from UNB Fredericton in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He has been an important part of the Miramaichi Physiotherapy team since 2023. Max brings up-to-date information on the benefits of exercise and proper body mechanics to improve the overall health of our patients and to prevent injury. Max's knowledge and passion for sports and exercise will help you move better!


Physiotherapy Assistant

Maddie Matchett, BSc Kin

Maddie was born and raised in Miramichi. She graduated from UNB in 2023 where she received her bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology. She first joined our team at our Chatham location working as a summer student during the summers of 2022 and 2023. In the fall of 2023 Maddie joined the Newcastle team and has continued to work at both the Chatham and Newcastle locations.

Maddie enjoys working one on one with patients, helping them achieve their full potential in their recovery. She hopes to further her education in the field and pursue a career in physiotherapy one day!

When not at work Maddie enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also dedicates a lot of her time coaching various sports teams including rugby, hockey, and soccer.

Administrative Assistant

Jennifer Travis

Jennifer Travis was born and raised on the outskirts of Miramichi. She has been an integral part of the River Rehabilitation team as an administrative assistant for the past seven years. Prior to that, she worked in different customer service/management roles that prepared her for the fast-paced, professional customer service we provide. When not at work, Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughter doing outdoor activities.

 

Administrative Assistant

Lisa Silliker

Lisa was born, raised and continues to live in the Lower Derby/Millerton area. She has been a part of the Miramichi Physiotherapy team for almost 10 years. Prior to that, Lisa worked as a  legal assistant at a local law office. Lisa enjoys meeting new clients and assisting in making their experience with the clinic a pleasant one. 

On her time off, she enjoys walking, biking, boating and snowmobiling with her family and friends.


Administrative Assistant

Tanya Gillis

Tanya was born in Chatham, NB but moved around most of her younger years being in a military family.  She returned to Miramichi for their last posting and has been here ever since. Tanya has worked with Miramichi Physiotherapy as an Administrative Assistant since January 2017. 

Previously, she attended NBCC Miramichi and worked in various places in an office environment including the Community College and a law office.  When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and enjoying what nature has to offer doing different outdoor activities such as kayaking, ATVing, boating or simply walking through the woods.
